Dirty Dancing - Kassidi - This movie is awesome,it has a great story Great for a date! - (1/29/00)

Ben Hur - cisco4@aol.com - Devotion to family, love, friendship, betrayal, hatred, survival, revenge, discovery of faith, a miracle, and one of the most exciting race spectacles ever put on film makes Ben Hur an easy choice for my favorite film of all time. Comparing this great film which won 10 oscars to the ridiculously overrated "Titanic" which won 11 oscars demonstrates the deteriation of the integrity of the Academy Awards over the years. - (1/26/00)

Goodfellas, Godfather I & II, Heat, Pulp Fiction - joez8@webtv.net - these movies all had great acting and dialouge goodfellas is the best mob movie ever and and godfather is probably the best movies ever but not my favorite to watch and heat is the best all around action movie ever and pulp fiction has the best script and dialouge i think the best actors are robert deniro, al pacino and samuel l jackson and jack nicholson is one of the best also i also like edward norton in fight club which had the most gut wrenching and realistic fights seen on the screen i also reccomend chinatown excorcist casino the good the bad and the ugly and saving private ryan e-mail me and let me know what you think - (1/24/00)

Saving Private Ryan - dsblake@tecoenergy.com - At 49 I thought I'd seen all the best war epics! Then came "saving private ryan" It had everything a movie can have when humans are put to the ultimate test! This movie opens with the most intense, graphic, and emotional battle seen ever filmed by anybody in the movie industry, then when I thought 'THAT COULD NEVER BE TOPPED,' Spielburg ends the movie with a french town holdout that will make any producer forget ever trying to top this war flick now or in the future! This film goes down as probably the all time, best war film that has ever been done, and wins by an incredible margin..... - (1/18/00)

Saving Private Ryan - wappak@yahoo.co.uk - Simply the best film ever made - no arguments - (1/16/00)

The Sandlot - cjh0813@yahoo.com - because it's so funny, and those little boys are soo cute! - (1/14/00)

Indian Summer and Home for the Holidays - Maya - I laugh through the whole movie, no matter how many times I've seen them both. They're two of the less-recognized, but better movies I've seen. Both stories are about people who re-visit significant places from their childhood, and although there is a serious aspect to each story, it gets mixed with such humor that you forget about being serious and wind up laughing. - (1/12/00)

Bill and Ted (Excellent Adventure and Bogus Journey) - coolcurves@hotmail.com - It's fun and has good humour - Colourful and cool - They make me happy!! - (1/6/00)

The Green Mile - henley111@aol.com - Tom Hanks (Paul Edgecombe) Michael Clarke Duncan (John Coffey) and Doug Hutchison (Percy Whetmore) are great great actors who make the movie wonderful and worth sitting down for three hours to watch! The story is also excellent! -  (12/23/99)

Natural Born Killers - sitinurhaliza@putera.com - Kill! Kill! Kill - (12/22/99) [No, no, no!! -- fuzzydog :-)]

Schindler's List - jomayer51@wmn.net - The most important film of the 20th century. I know people say its Citizen Kane, but the events that shaped the twentienth century are outlined in Schindlers list. 1945 was the climax of this powerful century and even the climax to this powerful millenium. - (12/20/99)

Clerks/Mallrats/Chasing Amy/Dogma - cheeeezzzzz - kevin smith(silentbob) has yet again astounded me with a great film. Dogma is the latest film with J and Silent Bob, this time as two prophets out to save the world and to try and get some sweet love from a decendant of Chrsit. - (12/6/99)

Mr. Smith Goes to Washington - csmiconect@aol.com - Along with starring one of the greatest film actors of alltime,(Jimmy Stewert) this 1939 classic is a great example as to "the more things change, the more they stay the same" - (12/4/99)

Titanic - ahmed - (11/30/99)

There's Something About Mary - Mike - Has to be one of the soon-to-be classic comedies of all-time. Those that like this one will also like Black Sheep and TommyBoy (both Chris Farley movies), of course all the Naked Gun movies, and both Austin Power's flicks. These should be enough to keep you laughing for a lifetime. Cheers. - (11/29/99)

Starship Troopers - adam.silverstein@duke.edu - First of all, I'm being completely serious here. The cinematography of this movie is simply incredible, and the acting is top-notch. I think Rico deserved at least a nomination for his portrayal of the doomed, tortured youth that is sent off to fight our nations' battles. However, thanks to post-modern technology, despite the fact that his entire torso was eaten by a giant bug, as they so eloquently put it, he was allowed to survive and fight on, yet another day. - (11/23/99)

Chungking Express and Apocalypse Now - thilo.henn1@de.dreamcast.com - Both are highlights!Especially Chungking Express(by Wong Kar Wai) is great. This film is so emotional and absolutelly unique. Other good films are:all Scorsese,Tarantino,Kubrik films and the Gothic/Fantasy movie The Crow.(Heat is also great) - (11/23/99)

Little Shop of Horror - Otyra@hotmail.com - This movie is too totally of the hook. It is a musical about a plant from a far away planet who is found by a poor geeky florist. Monty Python: The Quest for the Holy Grail - rbulpin@home.com - Greatest comedy ever.... none compare. - (10/21/99)

Man Bites Dog - thetonic@aol.com - This gruesomely morbid tale of a murderer is one of the most entertaining dark comedies I have ever seen. Armageddon - Fuzzball - Excellent film!! I cried for ages afterwards. Great performance by Bruce Willis and Ben Afflick. Its basically about a big asteroid that's going to wham into Earth. The U.S goverment (its always the U.S. goverment) decides to bury a nuke under the surface of it. They need a team of the best miners in the world, so on comes Bruce Willis and co. It just goes on to show what happens to them and if the mission's successfull and bla bla bla. Also check out 'The Rock', extremely cool film with extremely cool Sean Connery - (6/21/99)

Patton - SgtSeanbo - One of the great war classics. George C. Scott was fabulous and was awarded the Oscar for best Actor. The plot is inspiring, and the film is one that you can watch over and over again. The best part though, by far, is that it is both a chick flick, and a guy flick in one great package. Paradise Lost: The Child Murders at Robin Hood Hills - l.friman@mellon.com - This is a documentary film created to investigate both the impact of the viscious murder of three smalll boys on an Arkansas town, and to evaluate the fairness of the resulting arrests, trials, and convictions of three local teens. This movie is painfully realistic, well-made, and alltogether wonderful, but disturbing. It will change the way you view both the jutice system and the supposed social advances our country is assumed to have made since the time of the salem witch trials. - (9/28/98)

Citizen Kane - ahays@mcba.com - If you've never seen Kane, you may wonder why all the hoopla: Many of Orsen Welles' technical and narrative breakthroughs became movie cliches, and you probably know what "Rosebud" is through cultural osmosis. But the energy here is still beautiful, and Kane rewards endless viewings by peeling away layers of biography to reveal a moving, thoroughly American tale of regret. - (9/10/98)

Naked Gun 2 1/2: The Smell of Fear - anonymous entry - (9/9/98)

Touch of Evil - philgal@videotron.ca - With Citizen Kane, Touch Of Evil is Orson Welles' best piece of filmmaking (arguably, though). In my opinion, TOE stands as the best example of how an adequate idea well exploited can make an awesome film. Using corruption as a plot device, Welles created a masterful film that still holds its own after 30 years. - (5/16/98)

Romeo and Juliet - Val - I loved this movie! As of 1996, I became a Shakespeare fanatic. This movie was incredibly creative, with an amazing cast. I don't think that I could have taken another period-piece snorefest. 2 thumbs--plus my 2 big toes--up to Baz Luhrmann! - (5/12/98)

Titanic - David - This movie is more than 5 stars with brilliant performances by DiCaprio and Winslet. This movie leaves you depressed for days after you saw it. I think the music is the best music in a motion picture and this really adds to the emotional impact. The movie is great in every way and you can never take your eyes the screen. Every scene, every movement, every word is enjoyable and interesting. I think DiCaprio's performance should have won the Golden Globe for best actor and same with a smashing actress that is Winslet. This movie is exciting, scary, depressing, action-packed and has a brilliant story! It's the best!! - (1/23/98)

Breaking the Waves - Dale - Electrifying film charged with unsentimental, raw passion as well as the single best performance of recent years, in addition to an innovative style and a rock-solid screenplay. This is the one that ruins the experience of every other movie you'll see soon after watching it. - (8/25/97)

8 1/2 - Dale Wesley - Simply the most entertaining thing on celluloid; a breath of fresh air to any fan of cheesy Hollywood classics, guaranteed to please, to enlighten, and to be savored over and over again. - (8/25/97)

Forrest Gump - Lynn - The Best. (7/15/97)

Airheads - anonymous entry - Has absolutely none of the characteristics of a classic, but after watching it all the way through, sit back and ask yourself if it couldn't really happen. That's the true humor of the story. (7/13/97)

Ace Ventura: Pet Detective - Bball38369@aol.com - This movie is hilarious, funniest movie ever made. Like a glove! (7/12/97)

Top Gun - rendi@mail.utexas.edu - This movie has it all...action and a love story. Tom Cruise is soooo awesome, and we can't forget how all of them looked in the volleyball scene. (7/4/97)

Jurassic Park - And1Champ@aol.com - great, good memories of seeing it. Great story, everything just comes all together. (6/27/97)

Heat - winonino@hotmail.com - Without a doubt, this movie has the best blazing shootout scene in movie history. DeNiro and Pacino are the two best actors of their generation. Val Kilmer is great too. If you don't like this movie, there is something seriously wrong with you! (6/22/97)

It has Action, Adventure, Romance and a little comedy to top it off! Raiders is a five star movie and a timeless classic. (5/5/97)

Manhattan - done@texoma.net - It struck me as odd there are not Woody Allen films on the list. He's a remarkable filmmaker, and this, I believe, is his best — from pure comedy to strong drama. Allen's best films reflect pathos better than any filmmaker has managed since the days of Charlie Chaplin. There is is so much here to be enjoyed and mulled over. (5/5/97)

Emma - jlaroe@holly.colostate.edu - (1/27/97)

Pretty Woman and Menace II Society - CLM - Pretty Woman is a classic and must see movie. Gere and Roberts team up to do any interesting movie that is funny but yet a great love story. Menace II Society is on the flip side. It has a lot of drama and shows the real world and how to live in it, and how not to. It is real and I loved it. Both movies are a must to view!! - (1/27/97)

Sabrina (1996) - pdwilson@webtv.net - I may be the only person on the planet to think so, but I preferred the remake to the original "Sabrina." Audrey Hepburn was of course enchanting, but she really was not as believable as Julia Ormond as a working-class girl. Harrison Ford was disappointing but still better than Bogart as Linus, and Greg Kinnear stole the show as the playboy David. I love this movie more each time I watch it. - (1/2/97)

Thunderheart - Matthew McWhorter - I enjoy cops and robbers and of course western. I liked the segment when Ray Levoi and the Indian Police Officer are cornered and the Indian Police officer says to Ray "RAY?" Clueless - anonymous entry - Clueless, starring Alicia Silverstone and a host of other actresses and actors, was pretty good. Even though the commercials showed the movie as one of the stupid movies like the Naked Gun series, it actually turned out to be a good movie. - (12/06/96)

Forrest Gump - dreeves@cpis.net - Quite simply the most solid story and ensemble acting job.  A movie that takes its audience through a rollercoaster of emotions. - (12/02/96)

The Piano - anonymous entry - This is one of the best romance movies in the world. - (11/27/96)

The Empire Strikes Back - Bitb2@marconi.nscc.ns.ca - Obviously the best of the Star Wars Trilogy. Luke's first encounter with Darth Vader, Bobba Fett's first appearance and the Hoth battle. What else could you ask for. - (11/27/96)

Braveheart - h-kanipe@onu.edu - Simply the best, no other words for it. If you haven't seen it, go out and get a copy.....you don't know what you are missing! - (11/26/96)

Love Potion #9 - Justin Monson - (11/25/96)

Born On The 4th of July - anonymous entry - (11/24/96)
